Le Roc de Chère
Large rocky overhang jutting out into the lake, with a surface area of 69 hectares natural reserve, the Roc de Chère overlooks Talloires and Menthon and offers some remarkable vistas of the lake.
The wonder of this large forested area of more than 200 hectares doesn't stop there : the plant life is astonishing! There are mediterrean species like the Wild Madder or the Montpellier Maple alongside plants that prefer cool, damp conditions, such as the Rhododendron or the Spaghagnum.
There is also a typical forest wildlife (wild boar, deer, squirrels, wookpeckers, etc.) as well as wealth of amphibians, reptiles and butterflies.
To preserve this diversity, a part of the Roc de Chère has been classed as a nature reserve since 1977 and has to respect strict and specific rules.
